Despite the rainy weather on April 26th, the spirit of sustainability was alive and well in Twinsburg. Community groups such as the Twinsburg Native Habitat Association, Garden Club, Summit County Metro Parks, Parks and Recreation Department, the Environmental Commission and others gathered at the Community Center to host a vibrant Earth Day / Arbor Day Celebration.

This event offered something for everyone, from hands-on crafts for kids, to adult oriented activitites. Children enjoyed crafts at the Environmental Commission table and a family-friendly scavenger hunt. The Native Habitat Association challenged visitors with an “Invasive or Not?” game, while the Garden Club offered a make-and-take flower vase station. A local beekeeper was also on hand to share fascinating insights into the importance of pollinators. Residents could pre-register for a rain barrel workshop led by Tinkers Creek Watershed Partners—all made possible through the thoughtful planning and collaboration of our dedicated community organizations.

It was truly a fun day. I’m looking forward to more events in the future with these fantastic individuals. See what else Jonah has been up to by visiting the blog.
