Over two years ago, I proposed the idea of a Good Neighbor Award to the Environmental Commission. I told fellow commissioners a story of my neighbor, who rain, snow, sleet, or hail is out picking up trash on the road, just to make our corner of Twinsburg a little bit better, and spoke on how residents like her should be recognized more. Fast forward to this year, the commission solicited nominations, and voted on a winner.
I was honored to be able to present Steve the first inaugural Good Neighbor Award at the May City Council meeting. I find it fitting that those who nominated Steve mentioned how he also takes time nearly weekly to pick up trash, making his corner of Twinsburg a little bit better. You can watch the award ceremony within the first five minutes here.
This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the commission, council, administration and those who took the time to nominate individuals for the award.
It warms my heart to see that there are residents, neighbors and friends looking to make their corner of Twinsburg just a bit better.
