We have all seen young children speeding down the road in their e-bikes, or e-scooters. If you’re like me, you’ve worried for the safety of these young children as they often ride without helmets, ignoring traffic laws, and careless to their own safety. Luckily, The City of Twinsburg has recently adopted new ordinances (laws) that will hopefully increase safety in the city before there is an accident. Residents of the City must now do the following:

  • Register their e-bikes for free with the City,
  • Wear a helmet,
  • Obey all traffic laws,
  • Must use a class 1, 2, or 3 e-bike and be of proper riding age.
  • Be inspected by TPD.

The City of Twinsburg Police Department, also created a helpful infographic showing the difference between Class 1, 2, and 3 e-bikes for residents to view.

You can read the actual wording of the ordinance from the City of Twinsburg here.
